During a buoy inspection, we visually inspect the integrity of all components on the buoy, from the surface to the bottom. Are all shackles wired? Is there noticeable wear on any of the hardware? How much wear is on the chain? Is the buoy float water saturated?
It is important to have your buoy inspected every year before mooring your boat. Chain does not last forever. Could be a disaster waiting to happen.

Prepare accordingly and have your mooring buoy inspected, remove and replace worn chain if needed, replace waterlogged or cracked floats with new floats, add anchor weight (buoy block) if needed and always have a good mooring line that is activated securely.
